Boost Ranking Methodology
How CoinAd decides trending position.
Trending is advertising
Rankings reflect CoinAd boost activity and are not rankings of investment quality, legitimacy, safety, or expected performance.
The formula, in plain terms
Trending Score = Weighted Recent Boosts + Unique Supporter Bonus + Activity Bonus − Fraud Penalties
- Weighted Recent Boosts — boosts decay over time, so a boost bought an hour ago counts for more than the same boost bought last week. This keeps trending current rather than letting historical spend permanently occupy the top.
- Unique Supporter Bonus — many distinct supporters count for more than the same volume from a handful of accounts.
- Activity Bonus — genuine profile engagement contributes a small amount.
- Fraud Penalties — boosts from flagged accounts are excluded from the calculation entirely while under review, not merely hidden from display.
What is deliberately NOT in the formula
The ranking never takes account of:
- Price performance, or any promise of returns.
- The CoinAd Safety Score — a dangerous project can trend if it pays; that is exactly why the Safety Score is displayed alongside it.
- Whether a project has an ongoing commercial relationship with CoinAd beyond its purchased boosts.
No guaranteed positions
Buying a boost does not buy a specific rank. The only exception is inventory explicitly sold as a fixed placement, such as 'Homepage Featured', which is labelled as such wherever it appears.
